What this policy covers
This policy explains how Sitters Over FL handles information when parents, guardians, babysitters, applicants, and other contacts use our website, WhatsApp booking service, forms, and owner-assisted support.
Information we collect
- Contact and account information, including names, phone numbers, language preferences, and WhatsApp profile information supplied with messages.
- Family and booking information, including children’s ages, service address or location, dates, times, rates, driving needs, and special instructions.
- Sitter and applicant information, including contact details, age, photo, location or address, languages, religion when voluntarily provided, driving ability, availability, rates, biography, and verification status.
- Communications and service records, including WhatsApp messages, button selections, booking history, payment-link delivery, support requests, and owner actions.
- Technical and security information produced by the website and service providers, such as timestamps, provider message identifiers, delivery status, IP address, browser information, and error logs.
How we use information
We use information to receive and standardize booking requests, identify suitable sitters, deliver job offers, coordinate selections and confirmations, provide customer support, prevent duplicate or fraudulent activity, secure and troubleshoot the service, keep business records, and comply with legal obligations.
Automated tools may help interpret free-form booking messages. Deterministic application rules—not an AI model—control booking state changes, sitter availability responses, and sitter selection.
How information is shared
Eligible sitters may receive the booking location or address, children’s ages, schedule, offered rate, driving needs, language needs, and relevant instructions so they can decide whether they are available. The parent’s phone number is shared with the selected sitter after confirmation. Parents receive the selected sitter’s profile and contact information.
We also use service providers that help operate WhatsApp messaging, databases and file storage, hosting, automated message interpretation, security, and hosted payment pages. These currently may include Meta/WhatsApp, Supabase, OpenAI, Vercel or another hosting provider, and Stripe. Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy commitments.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed to provide and document the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Retention periods may differ by record type. We use access controls, signed webhooks, server-side credentials, and other administrative and technical safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Access, correction, and deletion requests
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, send “Privacy request” or “Delete my data” from the same WhatsApp number you used with the service. Start a WhatsApp privacy request.
We may need to verify your identity. We will delete or de-identify eligible information and ask relevant service providers to do the same, except for records we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or accounting purposes.
Children’s information
Parents or guardians provide limited information about children for the purpose of arranging care. Children should not submit information directly. Please do not send information that is unnecessary for arranging the requested service.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Questions or privacy requests can be sent through the same Sitters Over FL WhatsApp contact.
